Furniture giant IKEA will be launching their “Home Smart” line in April, a new line of tables, lamps and desks that will allow us to charge our wireless devices through the use of the Qi standard for wireless charging.
With 80 QI-enabled smartphones on the market today, IKEA’s innovative line seems to be a game changer for the furniture manufacturer industry. Zel Bianco, CEO of Interactive Edge, agrees and commented: “Mobile charging is an excellent fit for IKEA’s customer and I predict that as long as it works reasonably well, the Home Smart line will be successful. Other manufacturers will certainly follow.”
It will surely be exciting to see how many wireless charging furniture will be implemented throughout the nation in the upcoming year.
